FIFA 16 was that game where EA finally tried to shake things up, and honestly, it kinda worked. Defending wasn’t just about holding a button anymore—you actually had to think. Passing felt sharper, midfield play actually mattered, and pace abuse wasn’t the only way to win. It also introduced women’s teams for the first time, which was pretty cool. Career Mode? Still had its flaws, but at least scouting and transfers felt a bit better. Ultimate Team was its usual money-draining beast, but gameplay-wise, it was one of the more balanced FIFAs before things got way too arcadey in later years. Not perfect, but definitely had its moments.
